New Zealand Sabbatical

I just saw that Kilauea volcano is predicted to erupt again this week so try streaming it on YouTube.

But ,my intention for this post was to discuss another type of spewing-that done by the humpback whales in our ocean waters. We have had two chances to get up close in a boat with Captain Matt at the helm. His ship reminds us of the USS Minnow from Gillligans Island (see below)

We got as close as 100 yards to some of the scores of whales. We find them by their geysers and then manuever closer (for pictures like the one below).

When we leave the dock for on these trips, we are always passed by the faster boats going to deeper waters with cages to be used by those patrons to swim with sharks-no, thank you.
