RUGGLE and the WIGGLES

After the Iowa Hawkeye women won their 3rd consecutive Big Ten tournament championship in overtime, I decided to wear their colors in a show of appreciation. I walked into the medical centre that day only to have multiple nurses immediately chortle, saying I reminded them of “Greg” the lead singer of The Wiggles,an Australian television children’s music  group formed in Sydney in 1991. That was good for a laugh until I looked into Greg’s history only to find he retired from the show at age 33 of blood pressure problems. He was enticed to come back for a reunion show 5 years later only to suffer a heart attack during that performance. Luckily, he survived. I also read another member of the band had heart block and needed a pacemaker. Maybe TV acting is more stressful than I had realized.

Greg is in the first photo in a yellow shirt just like I am wearing in the second picture.

I am posting this on St. Patrick’s Day and find it curious the local priest downplayed that fact during Mass this morning, especially since his name is Father Brian Fennessy.

I, personally, would have said you looked more like Big Bird, but that’s just me.

Hope to see your entry in the Final Four All Stars, picking the Hawkeyes to go all the way!
