Home ( for 6 months)

We made it home 6 days ago and have been getting the house back up to speed. It is great to see friends at the clinic and around town. I am not working here at this time but will need my stethoscope for Camp Lincoln duty for 2 weeks in late July and again for 5 months in New Zealand as we return to the Darfield Clinic for a final assignment 11-20-2023.

Special thanks to Orville and Kim Bunker for transport to and from the Des Moines airport for our kiwi trip. Kim’s suggestion to do this concluding post was a good one. I must also mention Bob Thompson who has remained a great friend though he moved from Newton over 30 years ago. He was the only person who figured out a way to comment on my posts, and in so doing, entertained all of us with his wit and additions. His Rules of Cricket will come in handy for our return to New Zealand.

If you are going to take the time to write and keep your (jealous) friends and family up to date on your globe-trotting adventures, the very least we can do is drop a comment or two to say how much we all appreciate being along for the ride. Enjoy your summer in Newton, after your summer in Darfield, followed by your new summer in Darfield. Among your and Dianne’s many other discoveries, you have figured out how to avoid winter! Bravo!
