Our next door neighbor across the fence is Judy who treated us to some perfect Bartlet pears from the her scrawny tree a few weeks ago. Her pear harvest was so good, a limb broke from the weight of the pears. This week she gave us more fruit-feijoas, saying you either like them or you don’t. They are a popular homegrown favorite here. The best description I found was that the fruit is “soapy-citrus” and I taste a bit of lime behind the tartness. Personally, I enjoy the kiwifruit a bit more and they are touted as more nutritional.
