Hospital honors me

Last week Mercy One -Newton Medical Center (formerly Skiff Medical Center) had a ceremony where they presented my named engraved on a plaque near the hospital entrance commemorating our 41 year affiliation. I had forgotten I had authored a limerick for the occasion but will include it here after the fact:

Dr. Ruggle Retirement Limerick-

A name is just a name but, what if,

I could say without causing a riff

Mercy One-Newton

Deserves rootin’ and tootin’

But most of my memories involve Skiff.

I received a gift certificate which I promptly spent on these wild trails shoes for use in NZ. We fly there in 4 days.

  2. There once was a doctor named Paul
Who was respected by one and by all
    He retreated Down Under
    Much to everyone’s wonder
For in New Zealand there is no baseball
