ADAM WORKS FROM OAHU

Adam has been doing psychiatric telemedicine around the Americas for several years. After his 2023 tour of South America, he returned to Iowa and other North American spots for 2024 and started 2025 with 2 months of home-basing in Hawaii on the west (Honolulu) side of our island while we are on the east coast here in Kailua. This is only a 30 minute drive so we have seen him often. He resides with like-minded “digital nomads” including Cat and Joann in the picture, far right. They recently visited our Lanakai Beach where this picture below was taken. In the backgrounnd are 2 landmark islands, Moko Izi and Moko Nui, affectionately referred to as “The Mokes”. They are too far away to swim to but I may get there by kayak or outrigger one of these days.

Near us (just past the new Obama home) is this fabulous view of the Northern Pacific Ocean as seen from Makapu’u Lookout (below). There you gaze out past nearby islands and feel the brisk tradewind breezes. We hear moon rises can be captivating but we have only had a glimpse of these so far.

  1. OK. Now you’re just showing off.

You’re living in paradise with a beautiful girl by your side. Your son and his friends are working and living happily across town. You’re tryng to figure out whether to tale a kayak or an outrigger (whatever that is) to some nearby tropical rocks… just because.

Which begs the question: “Do you even know how cold this winter has been where your friends live?” We’ve had snow here in southern Virginia 3 times this year after NO snow for years. Most February high temps here have been in the 30s and 40s. Your friends and family in Iowa have had it much worse. And yet you torment us all with beachy pictures with your toes in the warm sand?

Yes, we’re all happy for you. Yes, we’re glad that you and Dianne are living your best lives. Yes, we all think good people like you two deserve the all the warmth and beauty that daily surrounds you.

But it’s winter here and baby, it’s cold outside!

    Mahalo.
