BACK TO WORK

We finished our cruise only to have Dianne contract a mild case of Covid. This mirrors our first trip to NZ a year ago when we both caught it flying over. This time I stayed healthy and Dianne has fully recovered. She played tennis today with the town team and represented herself well among her Darfieldian teammates. I watched for a while and then walked home where I found this ice cream truck on our street and treated myself to a dip cone before it drove off playing the typical music you might expect from such a business.

This next picture is silly in 2 respects. The funny hat is our token reward for our participation in the local bar’s weekly trivia night. We will turn it back in next week and receive a round of drinks as our prize. If you look very closely, you will spot the othe silly item-the chin hair I am cultivating over Dianne’s objection. Something tells me she will have the final call on shaving it.

I worked this week and have already seen a few patients I remember from my previous work assignment. Most are around my age with stories to tell. They are interspersed with the many strep throats that are so prevalent here now.

  1. First of all, I’m really glad that Dianne’s case of COVID was easier on her than last lear and that you experienced a passover. If you do this thing again next year, you have got to find a way to avoid this annual “Welcome Down Under” nemesis!

Second of all, I miss Ice Cream Trucks and glad you found one. They were one of the best parts of growing up!

Third of all, the beard. Yeah. Dianne gets the final say for sure. Happy wife, happy life. Things aren’t THAT upside down, down there.
